Having been born in the time before smartphones, I always went to the local store and dropped off film to be developed and came back the next day to pick up a packet of small photo prints. These things we kept in a drawer or photo album that only ever saw light when there was company, at which point we would flip through them and share stories. Growing up this way left me with the idea that photos should be tangible and shared with others; put in an album, book, hung on the wall, or given as gifts. Because of this belief I enjoy making prints of my own photos for others to enjoy.
